Winvic soared to top spot in the November leagues thanks to a \u00a3266m warehousing job in Swindon.<\/p>\n
The job, to demolish a car manufacturing plant formerly belonging to Honda and build a 672,000 square metre warehouse in its place, pushed it well beyond its nearest competitor, according to data gathered by construction intelligence provider Glenigan<\/a>.<\/p>\n Nearly \u00a3100m separated the logistics specialist from the second-placed contractor in November.<\/p>\n The development is still subject to planning permission from Swindon Borough Council, but would support a minimum of 7,000 jobs on site, according to client Panattoni.<\/p>\n Winvic\u2019s job in Swindon is just the start of work at the former Honda site, with the developer promising to invest more than \u00a3700m there when it bought the plot of land in 2021.<\/p>\n The Honda job made up the majority of Winvic\u2019s \u00a3299.2m total for November, which was spread across three jobs in total. Demand for warehouses soared over the course of the coronavirus pandemic, mainly due to the increased<\/a> interest in online shopping. The push for warehouses also saw Winvic top the league<\/a>\u00a0in May.<\/p>\n
