Costain is moving its headquarters from Maidenhead in Berkshire to the City of London.<\/p>\n
The UK\u2019s fifth-largest publicly listed contractor is set to take over the seventh floor of the Mace-built <\/a>\u2018Can of Ham\u2019<\/a> building at 70 St Mary Axe. The 1,600 square metre office will have space for around 125 desks \u2013 a 400 per cent uplift on Costain\u2019s current London capacity.<\/p>\n The engineering contractor will vacate Costain House, its current headquarters in Maidenhead, as well as its existing London offices, although it will open a new Maidenhead office for employees based in the area.<\/p>\n The company said the move to its new headquarters was expected to complete in the second half of 2024, with the new space offering permanent and hot desks, customer meeting rooms, training areas, informal meeting spaces and \u201cintegrated smart technology throughout\u201d.<\/p>\n Costain chief executive Alex Vaughan said: \u201cThis is an exciting new chapter in Costain\u2019s 159-year history and one that points to a bright future. I\u2019m really looking forward to the tremendous opportunities that the new head office will provide to all our people and our customers.<\/p>\n \u201cOver the past few years, working requirements have changed, with increased co-location with our customers and dynamic working.
