Two tenders with a combined value of more than \u00a32.3bn have been announced by public sector framework provider Fusion21.<\/p>\n
Firms are being invited to bid for decarbonisation work and building safety projects that are open to a range of firms from those with regional or national coverage to SMEs.<\/p>\n
The \u00a31.5bn decarbonisation framework covers thermal insulation projects in public buildings and schools, plus houses.<\/p>\n
Tenders are divided into two lots.<\/p>\n
The first, for whole-house decarbonisation, covers works to domestic dwellings. This includes design and planning plus retrofit coordination of insulation materials.<\/p>\n
Also on this lot are contracts for installing ventilation and renewable energy systems such as battery storage systems. Work also covers air\/ground source heating, heat networks, solar thermal systems and whole-house refurbishment works.<\/p>\n
The second lot is for decarbonisation of public and educational buildings, including heating and roof insulation work.<\/p>\n
Both lots cover the whole of the UK.<\/p>\n
Bidding will open on 13 January 2025 and the new framework is due to commence in April 2025.<\/p>\n
Fusion21 also announced the renewal of its national Building Safety and Compliance Framework, which is worth up to \u00a3800m over four years.<\/p>\n
This has been divided into 12 lots and covers works to ensure public sector landlords meet safety standards and standards set by the housing regulator.<\/p>\n
Bids from existing and new firms are invited for the renewed framework, which will begin next year.<\/p>\n
The deadline for bids is noon on Friday 17 January 2025.<\/p>\n
The contracts are again focused on \u201ccompetent and specialist suppliers\u201d. This is because the works covered include asbestos surveying and removal, legionella monitoring and fire safety.<\/p>\n
Its previous round of tenders, revealed in 2021, received bids from 43 SMEs including compliance specialists and consultancies.<\/p>\n
Peter Francis, group executive director (Operations) at Fusion21, said: \u201cThis framework renewal will enable members to continue addressing the unique safety challenges of buildings ensuring the \u2018golden thread\u2019 of information is maintained, while also helping to address the challenges created by new legislation.\u201d<\/p>\n
