Costain has boosted its order book by \u00a31.5bn, the firm has revealed.<\/p>\n
In a trading update this morning (27 January), the civils contractor said its level of activity means it expects to grow its future margins.<\/p>\n
The CN100 firm<\/a> has seen a \u201csubstantial increase\u201d of \u00a31.5bn in its \u201chigh-quality\u201d forward work position to reach \u00a35.4bn in its 2024 full year, compared with \u00a33.9bn in 2023, it said.<\/p>\n The growth is a result of broadening its tier one customer base and expanding its consultancy services, including on the \u00a34bn BP Net Zero Teesside Power project<\/a>.<\/p>\n It also named winning a BP FEED contract for a new hydrogen pipeline also in Teesside, as key to its growth.<\/p>\n \u201c[The order book growth], together with growth on existing frameworks and attractive levels of bidding activity, gives the group increasing confidence in its ability to deliver further growth in operating profits and margins,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n Costain topped the December contracts league table<\/a>, compiled by Glenigan, after it won a \u00a3400m job to deliver critical lineside mechanical and electrical systems for HS2<\/a>.<\/p>\n
