Yorkshire-based procurement organisation YORhub<\/a>, expects to appoint eight contractors.<\/p>\nThe framework will last for four years with an optional two-year extension.<\/p>\n
It will cover mainly civil engineering and new-build or refurbishment works to bridges, highways and coastal areas.<\/p>\n
But the framework, which begins this November, could also include flood alleviation projects or design-and-build jobs.<\/p>\n
The YORcivil Major Works framework is open to local authorities in Yorkshire and the Humber, as well as the North East of England and Lincolnshire. Local authorities in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Sheffield are also eligible for the framework.<\/p>\n
Central government agencies can also access the framework, as well as combined authorities, and any public educational organisations \u2013 including schools, colleges, universities and faith schools.<\/p>\n
There is also an option to extend the framework by a further two years, to allow contractors time to \u201crecoup their significant initial investment in establishing processes and procedures that will deliver the improvements that the clients are seeking through this framework\u201d.<\/p>\n
Those improvements include economic regeneration, carbon and waste reduction, training and employment initiatives, building information modelling (BIM), the Construction Playbook and construction innovation.<\/p>\n
